Pair by QR

Pairing by QR links a screen to its device in the panel without typing anything on the screen. It replaces the manual method (entering the server URL and the device ID in the app): just scan a code from your phone, already signed in to the panel.

Available on Android v2 agents. Older agents (v1) still use the manual configuration described in Android agent configuration.

How it works

  1. On the screen — when it starts for the first time, the agent shows a QR code and, below it, a 6-character code (for example ABC234) as a manual alternative.
  2. On your phone — with your panel session open, scan the QR. It takes you to the Link device page (/pair).
    • If you can't scan, on that page click Scan QR to use the camera, or type the 6-character code in Screen code and click Continue.
  3. Choose the device — the page shows "Screen detected" with the model and version. Under Link to, choose which device in your account it corresponds to and click Link this screen.
  4. Done — you'll see "Device linked". The screen configures itself in a few seconds: it receives its ID and its account automatically and starts downloading the playlist. There's no need to touch the screen.

Pair from the panel (choose the device first)

You can also start pairing from the device list:

Devices → device Actions menu → Link screen (QR)

This opens /pair with the device already preselected ("You are about to link: …"). You only need to scan the screen's QR or type its 6-character code. The option only appears on free and compatible devices (v2 agent, not blocked or retired).

Manual method (alternative)

If you prefer or need the classic method (v1 agents, or configuring without a phone), see the Quickstart option B and Android agent configuration: you enter the server URL and the device ID (RDSXXXX) in the app's Admin settings.
