Users and groups
Creating a user
Administration → Users → New (admins only).
Fields:
| Field | Detail |
|---|---|
| Full name | Visible in logs and notifications. |
| Username | Unique identifier, lowercase, no spaces. |
| Receives notifications (sign-up, password reset, invoices, plan changes). | |
| Company | Main company the user belongs to. |
| Group | Permission template. See below. |
| Temporary password | The user changes it at first login. |
After creating the user, the system emails a welcome message with their credentials.
User groups
Groups are permission templates. Under Administration → User groups you can create custom groups or reuse the existing ones:
- Superuser — full access, manages companies, plans, catalogue.
- Company admin — manages users, plan and every resource in their company.
- Editor — uploads content and creates playlists, but no billing.
- Viewer — read-only.
For each resource (devices, playlists, videos, images, etc.) a group has flags:
- Read — see the resource.
- Modify — edit.
- Create — add new ones.
- Delete — remove.
Per-company permissions
A user can have permission on multiple companies. In the user editor, the Permissions tab shows a matrix: company × read permission.
Resources created by that user are associated with the company that's active at the time of creation.
Blocking / deleting a user
- Block — disables login without erasing history.
- Delete — removes the user and reassigns their resources (uploaded videos, created playlists) to the company or a system user.
Audit logs keep a reference to the user even after deletion.
Password recovery
Any user can request a recovery link from the login screen. If you need to force a password change on another user (e.g. an employee leaving) edit them from Administration and set a new temporary password — the system will ask them to change it at next login.
